1. What is the All-on-4 same-day dental implant treatment?
Traditional dental implants and the All-on-4 same-day dental implant treatment consist of small titanium screws that fit inside your jawbone, serving as a foundation, replacing tooth roots. Dr. Mary Oliverie attaches a very natural-looking permanent fixed bridge to your implants. These bridges will feel very comfortable and function like natural teeth.
All-on-4 requires only four to six precisely placed implants that take advantage of denser areas of bone. Dr. Mary Oliverie positions each screw at an angle, avoiding the nerve canals in your upper and lower jaw. This process differs from traditional implants, which require a separate implant for each crown or bridge.
2. What is the All-on-4 same-day dental implant treatment process?
When you come to our office for All-on-4 dental implants, your consultation begins with a review of your medical and dental history. Dr. Mary Oliverie dental partners will take detailed 3D X-rays, which allow Dr. Mary Oliverie to ensure proper implant placement and determine if your case requires bone grafting, and in some cases a sinus augmentation. If you’ve been in a denture for a long time, you may have a lack of bone density, in which case Dr. Mary Oliverie can perform what is referred to as a “last resort” dental implant procedure known as the Zygoma or Pterygoid implants.
When you return for the procedure, our Dr. Mary Oliverie will perform any extractions and place your implants. Next, our doctor fits you with temporary, functional teeth. Finally, Dr. Mary Oliverie dental partners will explain proper aftercare, including brushing and flossing techniques and what food to avoid.
Our doctor will monitor the healing process of your implants, as well as the look, fit, and function of your new teeth. To ensure a proper fit, aesthetically and functionally, our doctor performs any necessary adjustments.
Once healing is complete, you come in for a final appointment where our doctor attaches your final set of replacement teeth.
3. What are the benefits of All-on-4 same-day dental implant treatment?
Along with its high success rate, the entire procedure takes approximately two hours to complete and provides you with a fully functioning mouth comprising natural-looking teeth that work effectively and efficiently.
Because the All-on-4 procedure permanently affixes the implant in place, it prevents future jaw bone loss and helps you maintain a youthful facial structure and better oral health.
To get back to smiling, speaking, and eating with renewed confidence, call or make an appointment today with Dr. Mary Oliverie in Wall Township, Tennessee to find out more about the All-on-4 dental implant treatment.

4. What are the different types of sedation?
Sedation dentistry is the perfect solution for those suffering from dental anxiety or phobia. It helps them relax during the dental implant procedure. However, the level of sedation you need may vary.
laughing gas: This medication will help with anxiety, making you feel more comfortable and relaxed. You will be able to drive to your appointment and drive home after this sedation is performed.
Oral Sedation, plus Nitrous: You will be given these oral medications to take the night before and the morning of your surgery, in addition to nitrous oxide or “laughing gas” that will be used during your procedure. If you choose this option, someone will need to drive you to and from our office.
Twilight IV Sedation, plus Oral Sedation: You will be given oral medications to take the night before and the morning of, then once you arrive for your procedure you will be placed under IV Sedation to give you a completely relaxed, drowsy, dream-like experience. In this case, someone will need to drive you to and from our office.
Local anesthetic is the most minimal of sedation—you are conscious and aware of the procedure but do not feel anything. This is usually administered via injection into the area we will be working on.
General sedation, which renders you completely unconscious, may be required for more advanced dental implant procedures in Wall Township, such as Zygomatic and Pterygoid implants.) However, many patients prefer just to be completely unconscious during any implant procedure.
All sedation is performed by a board-certified anesthesiologist on-site so that you go into a deep sleep and wake up with a brand-new smile! Due to the nature of this sedation, you will need someone to drive to and from your appointment.
5. What can I expect with IV or “Twilight” Sedation?
To prepare, you will be instructed not to eat or drink anything for up to 8 hours before your surgery. You will still want to brush your teeth the morning of and take any prescribed medications with a small sip of water.
When you arrive at Dr. Mary Oliverie’s office, his surgical partners will oversee your entire visit from start to finish to ensure you are comfortable and well taken care of. Once your procedure is about to begin, your IV Sedation will be delivered. Many describe the feeling of IV sedation to be like having a few glasses of wine! Once you are relaxed, the procedure will begin. Most patients do not remember the procedure and tolerate IV sedation very well.
6. What Is All On Four?
All On Four is a method of full arch replacement where a set of four dental implants are used as a support mount for a prosthetic denture. The nature of the procedure makes it possible to have a new smile in a single day.
7. Am I A Good Candidate For All On Four?
Getting All On Four dental implants in Wall Township is typically available to most patients. It does require good oral health—if you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted you should be ok. The main issue is having enough jawbone density for the implants to bond.
8. Does All On Four Feel Natural?
Not only does All On Four feel natural but they also look and function naturally. In fact, no one can tell you have implants unless you tell them.
9. Can I Travel To Another Country For Dental Implants?
Yes, you can—but the savings are rarely worth the risks. Let’s take our closest dental tourism destination—Mexico.
Over a 20-year collection of samples from dental clinics in Mexico to test for sterilization, Mexico had over a 10% failure rate. That’s pretty serious
In the U.S. a general dentist has to go through three additional years of education before they can be qualified to work with dental implants. However, in Mexico, dentists only need a 4-year education to get a dental license for general dentistry. They are allowed to perform dental implant surgery with no more education than that.
Also, if you get your work done in Mexico and something goes wrong—there are no refunds. Dental implants are worth every penny, but they’re still a significant expense and you want to have some guarantees.

12. What Is The recovery process like?
Even though All On Four is completed in a single day, it’s still oral surgery and you need to allow for proper recovery to get the best results. Here’s what to expect during your recovery and things that you can and cannot do.
No Pressure
First and foremost, no pressure inside the mouth. That includes smoking, spitting, drinking through a straw, heavy lifting, and swishing. You want to refrain from doing that for a minimum of three days after your procedure. Swelling, bruising, and bleeding are to be expected a few days after your surgery. Remember, although the mouth seems like a very small area, it is a very intense procedure, but if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
Swelling and bruising can be alleviated by using ice packs for the first three days: 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off. Continue to do that throughout the day. Target the outside of your mouth with ice packs and the inside with popsicles, ice cream, cold drinks, cold soup, and things of that nature.
After about three days, the cold won’t really do much for you. At that point, you want to switch it to heat, doing the same thing: 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off.
Bruising might be present for a period of 5 to 10 days, and in some instances can last longer depending on the surgery that you’re getting done.

13. What Should I Expect At My Dental Implant Consultation?
The first step towards your new smile is the initial consultation. Let’s go over a few things that you’re going to need to know to prepare for your consultation. The first thing we want you to understand is this is just an exam. No gooey impressions, no biting down on bulky sensors, no poking, no prodding.
It’s quite simple. We’re going to stand you in front of a 3D X-ray, and it’s going to take about 15 seconds. Next, you’re going to meet Bridget, our down-to-earth treatment plan coordinator. She’s going to get to know your medical history and your dental history.
In the meantime, Dr. Mary Oliverie is going to be analyzing your 3D X-ray and coming up with a very personalized treatment plan for you. This is the perfect time to ask Bridget or Dr. Mary Oliverie any questions that you’ve had lingering in your head.
Next, you’ll meet with Bebe, our financial coordinator, and go over all of your financial options. We do offer things like pay-as-you-go. We offer cash options as well as financing for qualified applicants. If you do have a lower credit score and you will be needing a co-signer, we do ask that you bring that co-signer with you or have them available via phone. Otherwise, we will need to reschedule your consultation.
The only thing that you will need to bring with you to your consultation is your driver’s license and an insurance card if you have one. Otherwise, just bring that smile. We’re looking forward to meeting you. So if you’re ready to move forward with treatment—just contact us!
